Springfield, MO:  The Springfield Sister Cities Association will host its 12th annual Japanese Fall Festival, Friday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic Ave.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the three-day event. Activities for volunteers include taking tickets, selling souvenirs, or helping with the children’s center.

Organizers also are looking for entertainment/entertainers related to Japanese culture.

The Festival showcases traditional Japanese music, dance, martial arts, crafts and food. Highlights of this year’s festival will include performers from Springfield’s sister city Isesaki, Japan, traditional tea ceremonies held lakeside in the Tea House, and a hands-on activity center for children.

Interested parties should contact Cindy Jobe at (417) 864-1341 to register to volunteer, or for more information on performing.
