Grand Opening of Beard’s Buff Birding Observation Deck at Millwood Lake

GRAND OPENING OF BEARD’S BUFF BIRDING OBSERVATION DECK AT MILLWOOD LAKE

ASHDOWN, AR.—The Army Corps of Engineers at Millwood Lake hosted a grand opening at 11 a.m. Tuesday of the newly-constructed Beard’s Bluff Birding Observation Deck. The deck is located at Beard’s Bluff campground near Millwood Dam.

The Corps has partnered with Audubon Arkansas and Larry Phillips Contracting to create the observation deck as an easily accessible way for the public to bird watch at a premier location on the lake.

“Millwood Lake is not only an excellent bird watching location it is also plays an important role in bird conservation for the state,” said Dan Scheiman, Bird Conservation Director for Audubon Arkansas.
