Fish Kill in Sullivan County Being Investigated

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, July 3, 2008—The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is investigating the cause of a fish kill in Sullivan County. The department received reports last night of dead catfish and minnows in Spring Creek at the Highway 129 bridge.

Staff from the department’s Northeast Regional Office in Macon and the Missouri Department of Conservation were dispatched to the scene last night to begin the investigation into the nature and source of the pollutant that caused the kill. Currently, the department has not determined the cause of the fish kill.
